Ismail YK (born 5th July 1978 in Hamm, as İsmail Yurtseven) is a German-Turkish singer. The YK stands for Yurtseven Kardeşler (siblings who love the fatherland), referring to him and his siblings. Gathering the techno-culture elements of Turkish immigrants, YK formed his own music. Arabesk, rap and techno can be considered as main noticable elements of YK's sound. These are used to be the main trends of respectively the first, the second and the third generation living in Germany.
